Join herbal historian Julie Wakefield, for this in-the-field foray into Sandham’s plants and their hidden histories. In this guided meander through our beautiful wild flower orchard she will share this vast knowledge, showing us how to identify and use – as well as the traditions and folklore behind - the plants we find on our way.

Event will commence at 11am and continue till approximately 3.30pm

WWI Salonika Campaign Book Launch and Lecture

On Saturday 11th June Sandham Memorial Chapel in Burghclere will play host to a book launch and lecture by the author and military historian Alan Wakefield (archivist for the Imperial War Museum) in an attempt to finally reveal the story of the forgotten campaign of the First World War, the battle for the Salonika Front.

Bucklebury Village History Day

In the historic kitchen at Bucklebury House, Bucklebury Village (follow the signs to Bucklebury Farm Park). The Bucklebury History Group invites you to look at LOCAL HISTORY from the Romans to the present day. This is a special, one-day event for the whole community. On display – archaeological finds, archives from Bucklebury House, details of on-going projects from the History Group, Photographs, Memorabilia, Census returns and much more. Parking - but no food, drink or smoking. Why not take a picnic (and the children?) to Bucklebury Farm Park afterwards!
