Bucklebury Village History Day

In the historic kitchen at Bucklebury House, Bucklebury Village (follow the signs to Bucklebury Farm Park). The Bucklebury History Group invites you to look at LOCAL HISTORY from the Romans to the present day. This is a special, one-day event for the whole community. On display – archaeological finds, archives from Bucklebury House, details of on-going projects from the History Group, Photographs, Memorabilia, Census returns and much more. Parking - but no food, drink or smoking. Why not take a picnic (and the children?) to Bucklebury Farm Park afterwards!

Our chairman, Dr Nick Young, presented a talk, “1968: not just an Olympic year”, on Saturday, 9th October as the opening evening event for Thatcham Festival of Arts and Leisure. An introduction was made by Thatcham Town Mayor, Lee Dillon. The talk briefly looked at the world in 1968, Britain in 1968 and then concentrated on Thatcham in 1968.
