Thatcham Festival
On Saturday, 6th October 2007, the society took part in the Thatcham Festival of the Arts to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the society. The event was organised by committee member Alf Wheeler and exhibition material by Dr Nick Young. St Mary's Church kindly loaned the Baptism and Mariage registers, Peter Allen also supplied newspaper material from 1967.
A great deal of interest was shown by visitors and many questions asked about recent and ancient history, the floods being a regular talking point. BBC Berkshire also dropped in and intervied a member of the society.
