It’s July 2007, the heavens have opened and Thatcham is fast becoming a flooded community.  Brenda switches her radio on to BBC Radio Berkshire in the charity shop where she works.  All is not what it should be for the station seems to be broadcasting historical dramas - all Thatcham history seems to be happening…simultaneously; she hears the struggle of a woman giving birth in the local church, the drone of a WWII American plane returning to Greenham Common and the frantic search of a girl on the nearby canal….The Watermill Theatre invites Thatcham residents (and anyone else who’d like to come along) to reflect on the town’s past, present and future through a new play by writer Ade Morris.Inspired by stories and contributions from local people, this engaging production will be performed by a professional company of actors alongside performers from the community. The show will also be recorded over four nights by BBC Radio Berkshire for future broadcast.

  • Performances will take place at Thatcham Football Club at 7.30pm.
