Dr Ray Asher introduced Stewart Hofgartner, from Below Stairs Antiques of Hungerford, as our speaker Monday (28th April) evening.  Antiques were brought along to the meeting by Mr Hofgartner and the audience.  Mr Hofgartner walked through and identified the items, which included a Georgian Cream Jug, Sheep bells, Flaggans and watches.  A background to the items and how to identify some of the items was given.  Mr Hofgartner also showed examples of his recent purchases which included a water pipe from London dating to the Great Fire of London.  A fantastic evening for both the audience and speaker with everyone learning something.  A vote of thanks was given by committee member Ray Asher and refreshments followed.
